printing technology became good enough to produce
more than prototypes, the very idea of printing in 3D is
not new. (II) The 3D printing technology development
has been so rapid and quick. (III) Nevertheless, 3D
printers will hardly out-compete existing technologies,
when it comes to the production of large quantities of
consumer goods and machine parts. (IV) For a long time
to come, the technology will probably be more suitable
for customized goods, spare parts, minor quantity
production, and products difficult to make in a
conventional way. (V) But experts have no doubt that 3D
printers will be increasingly used in many industries
