things women can control like eating well. (III) Clearly,
pregnant women who abuse alcohol put their babies at
risk of a wide range of birth defects. (IV) But what about
pollution in the air they breathe? (V) In the first study of
its kind, researchers report that expectant mothers’
exposure to pollutants can lead to a dramatic increase
in the risk of anxiety problems in their children at age 6.
