(I) Interestingly, women of primitive societies were often far less dominated than their modern and particularly Western counterparts are. (II) Far from being broken-down slaves to their men's drives and needs, women in early societies often had a better chance of freedom. (Ill) They also had more dignity and significance than many of their female descendants in more "advanced" societies. (IV) The modern woman might have the right to vote but she still prefers the domination of his man at home almost willingly. (V) These primitive women had a voice in the local councils and as elders they sometimes served as tribal leaders.
